Chef, TV Host and Best Selling Author Dennis Prescott will be releasing his second cookbook titled COOK WITH CONFIDENCE: Over 100 Inspiring Recipes to Cook and Eat Together (Harper Celebrate) on September 24, 2024. Cook with Confidence is packed with approachable recipes and mouth-watering flavor.
A culinary career was not originally on Prescott’s plate. He spent over 10 years striving to be a musician, traveling on a shoestring budget in a van with his bandmates and sleeping on air mattresses. By 2012, he found himself toiling away on the infamous Nashville music scene before realizing he wasn’t going to cut it. During that time, he wanted to change his lifestyle and health habits and taught himself how to cook by working his way through several cookbooks by British Chef Jamie Oliver that he could only afford to borrow from the library. This eye-opening introduction to the world of food quickly became an obsession for Dennis and he not only fell in love with cooking, but also lost 90 pounds in the process.
In 2017, he authored his first cookbook– Eat Delicious: 125 Recipes for Your Daily Dose of Awesome (HarperCollins) which quickly became a best seller. In 2020, Prescott’s reach literally and figuratively went global with the hit original Netflix series “Restaurants on the Edge,” in which three food and design experts travel to flailing restaurants around the globe to transform and place them on the road to success. He also frequently appears on History Channel’s The Food That Built America as an expert.
