Doug Butler has worked in the investment management business since 1991. As the Director of Research, he leads the research team, as well as financial planning and tax services departments for the Investment Management Group. Doug is also responsible for developing the firm’s asset allocation models and selecting external investment managers. During his tenure, assets under management have grown nearly ten fold and now exceed $4 billion. He has appears frequently on both business and mainstream media commenting on the economy, markets, as well as individual stock selections. Doug is a CFA charter holder and has also received his designation as a Certified Financial Planner™. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Boston Security Analysts Society, CFA Society of Providence, and the Williams Club. He also is a member of the finance committee for the Town of Wakefield.

  • We’ve recovered certainly from the March and April lows dramatically, but we’re nowhere where we were last December, so I think you’re going to still see struggles. As long as the vaccine implementation of the vaccine beats the third wave, we should be in pretty good shape. I think for the full year, I’m pretty optimistic. I think for the next few months, I’m more on the fence. Like, it wouldn’t surprise me for us to begin to take a few steps back the first part of the year.
