Dr. Durbha warns that tariffs on imported coffee beans could reach up to 50%, causing price hikes. "The trade war with China pressures brands to pass costs to consumers." Vanilla, mostly from Madagascar, faces similar impacts. Consumers may need to adjust their budgets as these "affordable luxuries" become pricier.
  • GLP-1 Drugs Revolutionize Food and Beverage Industry Strategies
Dr. Durbha notes GLP-1 users consume 29-30% fewer calories, favoring fresh produce. "This isn't just a fad," he says. Food companies must adapt recipes, while retailers expand fresh sections. Restaurants shift to smaller, nutrient-dense portions. With GLP-1 patents expiring by 2032, this trend signifies a long-term shift in consumer behavior.
  • Cocoa Price Surge: Impact on Chocolate Industry and Consumer Trends
Dr. Durbha highlights that "geopolitical instability and climate disruptions in West Africa" are driving cocoa prices up. Companies are adopting 'shrinkflation' and ingredient reformulation. The idea of a digital twin now becomes a reality. It starts surfacing all the hidden rocks in your supply chain, all the speed bumps. Now they are all visible in plain sight. Organizations have the ability to now work cross-functionally, and be able to optimize their supply chain in a much more holistic manner.
