Dr. Shaheed Koury is the Chief Clinical Officer at Adena Health System, bringing over 25 years of experience as a board-certified emergency medicine physician and healthcare executive. In his role, he oversees clinical operations and quality care initiatives across the organization. Prior to joining Adena in January 2023, Dr. Koury served as Chief Medical Officer and President of Clinical Operations at Quorum Health, a $2.5 billion hospital company, where he led medical affairs, nursing, case management, quality, safety, and ancillary services. He also held the position of Vice President for Quality and Clinical Transformation at Community Health Systems, guiding the $20 billion publicly traded hospital company to become one of the safest hospital networks in the nation by implementing safety and high-reliability tools across over 200 hospitals. Dr. Koury earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. He also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
