Dr. Susan Hewlings brings a lifetime commitment to health and fitness along with over 20 years of research, teaching and medical writing experience in nutrition, sports nutrition and scientific consulting for the dietary supplement and medical industries. She holds a PhD in Nutrition, a MS in Exercise Physiology, and is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian.

Dr Hewlings completed a research fellowship in protein metabolism at University of Texas Medical Branch. Her scientific and nutrition has supported many of the leading supplement brands in the industry. She is part of the team that created the industry award winning website collaborative VitaminD&me. Dr Hewlings has over 20 years of experience in higher education, including former faculty positions at University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Central Michigan University, and Stetson University, and she is currently an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University.

She is the author of Nutrition: Real People, Real Choices and has published multiple articles on dietary supplements, pharmacokinetics, and nutrition in peer-reviewed medical journals.

She is founder and director of a non-profit 501c3 animal rescue The ARF Shack Inc. Susan lives in the Florida Keys and is a distance runner by heart, but also enjoys aerial arts, weightlifting, yoga and paddleboarding with her dogs
