EDWARD SEGAL is one of the few people who has planned a modern-day whistle-stop campaign train tour, and has served as a campaign manager, press secretary, and aide to Democratic and Republican presidential and congressional candidates. Segal has written about the history of campaign trains for the Washington Post, Roll Call, Washington Journalism Review, and American Political Items Collectors.
Segal is an avid collector of political campaign memorabilia, with an emphasis on ballot boxes, 19th century parade torches, and 20th century whistle-stop train-related items. Items from his campaign train collection were on loan to the University of Hartford’s Museum of American Political Life in Hartford, Connecticut.
Segal is the author of the bestselling and award-winning book, Crisis Ahead: 101 Ways to Prepare for and Bounce Back from Disasters, Scandals, and Other Emergencies. He has hosted two podcasts: the Crisis Ahead and Crisis Management Minute podcast on the Federal News Network and Apple Podcasts. He is also a Leadership Strategy Senior Contributor for Forbes.com.
