Elizabeth Saunders is the former co-founder of Clermont Partners and former chairman of FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment in the Americas. She has extensive experience in ESG strategy and communications, transaction advisory, and shareholder activism defense. Beth, working with partner, Victoria Sivrais, built Clermont Partners into the leading integrated ESG and Financial Communications advisory firm before its acquisition by Riveron in June 2022.

She serves as senior counsel to boards and executive teams of public companies undertaking transformational environmental and social programs and commitments. Beth is a tireless proponent of the integration of reasonable and achievable sustainability and equality commitments and reporting into all aspects of stakeholder communications. She has published numerous articles and lectured throughout the U.S. on business transformation, ESG adoption, and shareholder activism. She has also been quoted in Board & Directors Magazine, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Renowned for her expertise in the area of corporate governance, Elizabeth has published numerous articles; lectured throughout the U.S. on business transformation, ESG adoption and shareholder activism; and has been quoted in Board & Directors Magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. She was also named to the prestigious National Association of Corporate Director (NACD) “Directorship 100” and Crain’s Chicago Business “40 Under 40”; and has spoken to the NACD and Women Corporate Directors (WCD).

Earlier in her career, Elizabeth was a co-founder of Ashton Partners, one of the top-15 independent IR firms in the U.S. FTI Consulting acquired Ashton Partners in 2008.

Elizabeth holds a law degree from DePaul University, with a concentration in Securities Law, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. She is on the Executive Board of Big Shoulders and a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Investor Relations Institute, and head of its Emerging Issues Committee. She was elected as a NIRI Fellow in 2019.
