I started in the field as a front line worker in congregate care (part time while in undergrad) in 1986 and have been in the field ever since- as a front line worker, as an Educational Psychologist and as a Clinical Psychologist. Congregate care has come a long way with the introduction of trauma informed care, and in particular for our agency and for myself, Dr. Bruce Perry's work in the Neurosequential Model. That being said, we recognize that we still have a long way to go and are committed to making that happen for the field of mental health and for each person that we serve.
