In 2017, Enrique Pavlioglou launched San Antonio-based Checkups, an app-based system that, once installed on a mobile phone, allows civil servants in the criminal justice system to monitor and track individuals (defendants) under community supervision via GPS, photographic verification and electronic signature. In 2019, Enrique participated in Geekdom’s six-week program for startups with Alamo Angels and eventually secured the company’s seed funding via Tech Fuel’s business pitch competition program. Today, Checkups is used by numerous criminal justice systems in Texas counties including Bexar County Pretrial, Bell County, Lampasas County and Medina County to monitor and track individuals under community supervision. More than 1,000 individuals under community supervision are currently being monitored using Checkups’ technology. Prior to Checkups, Enrique was a Research Specialist at James Brehm & Associates where he used his background in engineering and medical device technologies to share the latest in health news and innovative health technologies. He graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio.
