Erik Voorhees was the CEO and Founder of ShapeShift, an international, non-custodial cryptocurrency platform. Voorhees is among the top-recognized serial crypto advocates and entrepreneurs, communicating the virtues of Bitcoin as one of the most important inventions ever created. Before founding ShapeShift, Voorhees was the creator of SatoshiDICE, which popularized the concept of provable fairness and was responsible for most of the world’s Bitcoin transactions in 2012 and 2013. Prior to that, Erik was Head of Marketing at BitInstant in NYC.

The old ShapeShift was a tool for self-custody, so that people would hold their own assets in their own wallets and trade on ShapeShift as they pleased without having to hold funds at a centralized exchange. The new version of ShapeShift is a full self-custody platform for crypto management.
