Ethan Mattingly is Manager, Community Wellness, for Georgia and Kentucky at The Dairy Alliance. Growing up in Payneville, Kentucky Ethan spent his youth on his grandparents dairy/tobacco farm, which transitioned to an angus beef farm. Having an appreciation for the hard work it takes to grow food and knowing where food comes from drove him to pursue a degree in dietetics at Western Kentucky University.
Ethan went on to share his knowledge of foods’ impact on health and performance with college athletes at the University of Kentucky. He transitioned to the University of Louisville, where campus where he expanded access to healthy food options on campus, implemented a comprehensive allergen safety program, and educated the campus community about the impact of sleep, stress, movement and food on overall well-being.
Ethan strives to empower people to eat the foods that make them feel good mentally, physically, and emotionally by providing a clear picture of not only nutrient benefits but also the care and effort that ALL farmers put into our complex and complicated global food system. Outside of work, Ethan helps on his family farm, sells mums and Christmas trees seasonally, and spends vacations travelling the world searching for great hikes and new friends to sip espresso with.
