Frank Sorrentino III is Chairman & CEO of ConnectOne Bank (Nasdaq: CNOB), a leading regional commercial bank in the NJ/NY metro area. The bank was founded by Mr. Sorrentino and other civic and business leaders to serve local residents and businesses by providing the highest level of personalized banking services.
As Chairman & CEO of ConnectOne, Mr. Sorrentino is responsible for its business development plan, serves as the community liaison, sits on the loan committee and serves as the bank’s spokesperson. Mr. Sorrentino has been instrumental in developing the bank’s expansion strategy and oversees all marketing activities. In 2013, he led the rebrand of the company to ConnectOne Bank as well as the company’s initial public offering, which raised over $50 million in capital. Mr. Sorrentino led ConnectOne’s merger with Union Center National Bank (2014), Greater Hudson Bank (2019) and Bancorp of New Jersey (2020), which positioned the company to be a leading regional bank in the NJ/NY metro area with increased scale and capability.
Mr. Sorrentino is a frequent national broadcast commentator on CNBC, Bloomberg TV/Radio, Fox Business, Yahoo Finance discussing community banking issues, and his views have been published in prominent business publications including The Wall Street Journal and American Banker, along with being a monthly contributor for Forbes.com. In 2013, Mr. Sorrentino, was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Bankers Association and served a three year term.
Previously, Mr. Sorrentino was president of FSS Construction, Inc., a family-owned third generation construction business that specialized in custom-built luxury residential homes. FSS was founded in 1979 and is based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Mr. Sorrentino received his B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology from Farleigh Dickinson University in 1987. He was named "Builder of the Year" in 1995 by the Builders Association of Northern New Jersey.
