Ever since a ligament tear ended his days on the Judo mat, Gabriel has been passionate about helping others with joint health, bringing him to co-found two companies, including Hinge Health as well as serving as COO of two startups before becoming executive chairman of Hinge Health. Through his current position, Gabriel brings clinical research and experience to the deployment of Hinge Health’s care pathways. Originally from Germany, Gabriel graduated first in his class at the University of Cambridge with a master’s degree in materials science. He also received a master’s of philosophy in bioengineering from Imperial College London. While earning his bioengineering degree, his thesis explored the functionalized polymer fibers for orthopedic interfacial tissue engineering and other biomedical applications.
