I always considered myself someone who never truly fit in and I always loved anything that would make me stand out, I didn’t want to fit in.. When I saw fire spinning for the first time I was immediately attracted to it! The beauty of dancing with flames was unlike anything I’ve ever seen .I also grew up a bit shy and timid but for some reason the danger and adrenaline of fire attracted me even more.. I had struggled with anxiety and panic attacks around the time I first found the art of fire. The crazy thing was, I was never afraid of the fire, I always wanted more, and surrounding myself with flames actually made me feel at peace, powerful, and in control. It was and still is the best medicine I’ve ever had!
I was 18 years old, fresh out of high school when I picked up a hula hoop for the first time! I saw a video online of an amazing circus hula hooper named Lisa Lottie. I was immediately so mesmerized by her movements and I became completely obsessed with learning the art. I studied videos and self taught myself in my backyard and in my dorm room! At one point I realized there was nothing more I wanted to do with my life than be a hula hooper.. But of course I had to figure out how to do that first.
