I have been devoted to issues involving the elderly since the 1990s, when I started to see the effects that dementia was having on my own mother. Although my college degree was in accounting, I decided to obtain my graduate degree in Gerontology. I began working in the senior care industry in 1998, and have held various types of positions in finance, operations, admissions and community relations. I have worked in a Continuing Care Retirement Community, in skilled nursing facilities, and in assisted living environments. I have dealt with a wide range of issues, from Medicare and Medicaid matters to traumatic brain injuries to Alzheimer's and more.
