  • Adult Daycare: A Lifeline for Seniors and Caregivers
Heidi highlights adult daycare services as vital for seniors and adults with disabilities, offering "independence while providing social engagement and medical care." These programs reduce isolation and provide respite for caregivers. With services like therapy and transportation, they ensure safety and well-being. Heidi advises visiting centers, understanding services, and easing transitions for a seamless experience.

Heidi advises against saying, “Don’t you remember?” or “We already talked about this.” Correcting their perception can cause confusion and distress. Instead, join their reality and lead with empathy. “It can be frustrating and sometimes painful to try to convince someone that what their brain is telling them is reality is not actually true,” she explains.
