James Howard, member and spokesperson for the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), is an industrial designer, inventor, college professor, and the Executive Director of the Black Inventors Hall of Fame Museum. With over 25 years of experience in research and development, he holds 15 patents, many for medical devices that save lives everyday. His work with the NAI addresses equity gaps in the inventing space, and he currently fosters talent at Princeton University as a Design Thinking Mentor. As a Black inventor himself, he hopes to illuminate the countless ways inventors of color have changed the world.
