The turning point came when Jeff represented an insurance company against a personal injury lawsuit for a defective product. A man was seriously injured as the result of a flaw in the design of the elevator. It was apparent by the facts of the case that the injured man was owed compensation for his injuries, and likely needed the compensation to accommodate his new life as an amputee. Still, Jeff was required to zealously defend the insurance company and forced a low settlement. Although Jeff was successful in achieving a desirable outcome for his client, he felt that justice for the victim was denied. While legally permissible, this end result left Jeff feeling hollow and yearning to make a difference in his life’s work.

After that case, Jeff decided that he would never again represent another insurance company, no matter how much money they offered him. Jeff left his high-paying defense attorney position to start a new career helping Floridians injured in truck, motorcycle, and car accidents.
