Throughout her childhood, Jenny witnessed firsthand the societal inequities that many children face, namely in education. Her mother, a lawyer specializing in foster care, advocated for the rights of vulnerable children and highlighted the disparities they encountered.
These formative experiences deeply impacted Jenny's perspective and instilled in her a strong sense of social justice. She served as COO for TFA Bay Area, helped launched the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation’s education giving area, and led the expansion of Brooke Charter Schools and Aspire Public Schools. Then, Jenny founded TeachStart, an initiative aimed at finding the solution to America's teaching crisis. Here, her personal experiences and her unwavering commitment to educational equity continue to shape her work. Jenny Jordan earned her BA from Harvard University and her MBA and M.Ed. from Stanford University. Prior to her work at TeachStart, Jenny worked in charter schools, led strategy consulting for education nonprofits at The Bridgespan Group, helped launch the education arm of The Schusterman Foundation, and served as the COO and Interim Executive Director of TFA Bay Area.
