With a career spanning over two decades in the financial services arena across many disciplines, Joena is the driving force behind JBM Advisors.

Joena's journey is highlighted by her recent role leading the administration and risk verticals of the custody and clearing platform at a global financial services firm. Her leadership in pivotal projects, coupled with her extensive expertise in risk management, business development, project execution, regulatory change management, and operations, sets the tone for JBM Advisors' unwavering commitment to excellence.

Joena's career began with personalized retirement and small business savings counsel for high-net-worth clients. Her pursuit of in-depth advisory insights led her to a role as an equity mutual fund analyst during the tumultuous 2007-2009 financial crisis. In subsequent roles, she played a crucial part in optimizing operational processes and launching new product lines. Joena's passion for independent wealth management drove her to the custody and clearing arena in 2015 where she helped advisors transition from W2 and 1099 business models to independence and assisted client firms with meeting their growth goals. For the last several years, Joena served in a leadership role where she navigated administrative and risk responsibilities for both custody and clearing domains.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joena remains a dedicated community advocate. Joena serves on the board of Southeastern Women in Financial Services (SWIFS) and Holy Family Catholic School. Additionally, she is a board member and part of the Pace Center for Girls, Hillsborough executive committee where she serves as co-chair of the advocacy committee. Joena is also an active member of the University of South Florida’s Women in Leadership and Philanthropy, where she contributes her expertise to the Scholarship Committee, the Florida Securities Dealers Association, Inc. (FSDA), and the Florida Compliance Roundtable.

Joena holds a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, as well as a Master's degree in Management, with a focus on Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness, and a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, both from the University of South Florida.

Joena resides in Tampa Bay with her family and a crew of spirited pets. When she is not helping clients achieve their goals, she enjoys boating, fishing, live music, and exploring new horizons through travel.
