Josh Koren is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of Musketeer Capital Partners, which is a Florida based long / short equity hedge fund focused on the Internet, Technology, Media and Telecom sectors. The firm seeks to invest in unique, high-return global growth opportunities while initiating positions at attractive value entry points. Musketeer Capital currently manages two equity vehicles and was founded in 2020.
Prior to founding Musketeer, Josh was a Partner and Managing Director at Kavi Asset Management, where he led the firm’s Internet, Technology, Media and Telecom sector investment operations. While at Kavi, Josh was known for being an early actor in numerous high-profile ideas, and most notably was one of the first vocal significant backers of Sea Limited (which ultimately became the “Amazon of South East Asia”). Before joining Kavi, Josh was responsible for coverage of the Internet and Media sectors at Caxton Associates, a multi-billion dollar global multi-strategy hedge fund. Josh started his investing experience at JAT Capital Management, which was a ~$2.5 billion global Internet, Technology, Media and Telecom hedge fund, where he worked directly for the founder of the firm as an investment analyst.
Before becoming an investor, Josh started his career as an investment banker in the Media and Telecom Group at BofA Merrill Lynch, and also gained experience as an investment banker in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Evercore Partners. Josh holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with an additional academic concentration in Financial Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and completed coursework in Corporate Finance and Foreign Policy at both The London School of Economics and at The Copenhagen Business School.
