  • 90s Design Revival: Jewel Tones and Bold Patterns Make a Comeback
Kara notes a renewed interest in 90s design elements like sculptural furniture, jewel tones, and bold patterns. She advises balancing these with modern touches, such as muted damasks and matte finishes, for a timeless look. Kara suggests, "Layered trim on drapery or classical rugs add elegance," creating a thoughtful, elegant space.
  • Cafe Curtains: A Nostalgic Trend with Timeless Appeal
Kara highlights the timeless allure of cafe curtains, reminiscent of French and Italian countryside charm. Offering privacy while allowing light, they add romance to any space. Kara uses linen or cotton for a soft, warm feel, styling them in bathrooms and restaurants. "They hang well and lend warmth without feeling heavy," she says, creating a balanced, inviting atmosphere.
  • Square Kitchen Islands: The New Focal Point in Modern Design
Kara highlights that square islands offer "symmetry and balance," ideal for expansive kitchens. They enhance proportion and create a natural gathering spot. However, in compact kitchens, they may disrupt flow. Styling should be effortless, with fresh florals, artisanal boards, and comfortable bar stools, allowing the materials and architecture to shine.
