Karen leads Health and Wellbeing Strategy at Alight Solutions. She provides leadership and strategic direction to Alight’s broad breadth of Health Solutions including Benefits Administration, Point Solutions, and Healthcare Navigation. Her role encompasses solution innovation, thought leadership, Government Relations, and integrating the breadth of Alight Health, Wealth and Wellbeing solutions. These unique solutions enable clients to help their people optimize benefits, navigate healthcare complexity, and engage in total wellbeing.
An innovation-oriented leader, Karen has decades of experience in health solutions. She was an architect of Alight’s Total Wellbeing strategy which optimizes an employer’s HR and Benefits ecosystem by delivering an AI-driven personal wellbeing experience for employees and their families. She was a pioneer in building exchange solutions including the Aon Hewitt Active and Alight Retiree Health Exchanges Solutions.
Karen has lead Alight’s significant solution expansion including reimagining benefits enrollment, and building COBRA/Direct Billing, Retiree Administration, Consumer Accounts and Health Navigation. She has also held senior roles in Health and Welfare Benefits Administration including Practice Leader and Internal Operations Leader.
Karen often serves as the spokesperson for Alight on health and wellbeing issues at webinars and conferences, with the government and the media. She has advised agencies such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Department of Labor, and the Internal Revenue Service. She has also authored many comment letters on the ACA and other proposed regulations. Karen is regularly quoted by publications including Business Insurance, USA Today, and has been published in Benefits Quarterly, Workspan and HRO Today.
Karen is a member of Alight’s Leadership Group. She is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and Chairs the Board of Directors of the Employers Council on Flexible Compensation (ECFC).
