Before starting WYR, Karim worked as a Director of Finance in corporate America. His background in finance instilled in him a passion for finding optimal value solutions; reaching the highest possible quality at a reasonable cost.
He noticed there was an expectation vs. reality gap of truly premium clothing that focused on quality fabrics and a tailored fit. As a consumer, he found himself stuck between overpriced brand names or cheap or mass-produced clothing. He felt he deserved better quality and was willing to pay a bit more to get it, but didn’t want to pay for a luxury or high-end brand name pricing. This frustration inspired him to create WYR, where the goal is to offer exceptional quality without breaking the bank!
His Egyptian heritage deeply influenced his approach to the business of fashion, valuing artisanship and virtuosity in design & production. Collaborating with local fabric suppliers and production experts, he learned on the job and established the expertise and team necessary to deliver exceptional products with a high level of craftsmanship.
