The referendum is expected to have a direct impact on Enmax's ownership of Maine-based Versant Power, which it acquired in 2020 in a deal worth $1.8 billion.
“I think most Canadians would be surprised to learn that this company that is supposed to be working for them is spending their money in our [Maine] elections,” she said. “That’s not small change at all.”
