There are three primary factors growing the interest in plant based creamers: First, the rise in home coffee consumption, driven in part by new rituals developed during the pandemic. Many consumers purchased new coffee appliances and found they liked the cost savings and flexibility and have retained this new behavior even as some of us have shifted to hybrid work and school schedules. Second, all things plant based, both driven by environmental, animal welfare and personal health goals have grown dramatically and become mainstream and a long-term trend for today’s consumers. And lastly, with our broad array of exciting flavors and a rich creamy texture, consumers no longer have to compromise when choosing zero sugar or plant based options. We say they can “have their cake and drink it too”.
nutpods has always been the best selling plant based creamer in online channels with greater than 50% market share since we burst onto the scene. Today, our retail share has also grown dramatically in the past 3 years from 7% to nearly 12% of the plant based creamer category. Some of this has been driven by increased distribution and deeper relationships with our key retail partners, but velocity continues to drive nutpods as well. We are now the #2 brand overall in plant-based creamers and the only brand in the top 10 that is run by a female CEO.
