Manville Chan is the Founder and Chief Experience Officer at The Story of Ramen, a unique, immersive cooking experience located in San Francisco’s Mission District. After decades of work as a product manager in the technology sector, Chan felt he needed to transition his professional career into something he was passionate about while utilizing his valuable knowledge of the tech industry.
After training at the International Ramen School in Yokohama, Japan, Chan opened The Story of Ramen in 2018 and has since shared the art of ramen-making with upwards of 52,000. Along with his culinary expertise, Chan has also infused his decades of technological work experience into The Story of Ramen to build the company into what it is today. He created the company’s booking system, which enables 100% of bookings to be done online; he optimized its website for SEO and implemented dynamic pricing to maximize bookings and revenue; and he developed his own custom point-of-sale system to use in-house.
