Survivor and communications specialist Manya Chylinski helps people whose lives have been touched by trauma understand how resiliency and compassion are part of the path to healing, to enable them to live their best lives. She’s an entrepreneur who used her experience as a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing to help others understand the importance of recognizing the psychological impacts of violence. Her story has been told in the Boston Globe and Buffalo News and on All Things Considered, and she has shared her insights about being a survivor for Self Magazine. And she has spoken about the importance of validating the invisible victims of trauma on stages from the International Association of Business Communicators world conference, the Pennsylvania Governor’s Emergency Management conference, the National Homeland Security conference, and SXSW.
The survivor, Manya Chylinski, spoke Thursday morning as part of the second annual American Mental Health Wellness Association 2019 National Conference in Cumberland County, which was attended by more than 100 people from numerous states.
