Marina is a nationally recognized bilingual and bicultural registered dietitian, author, and certified diabetes educator with over 15 years of experience.
Marina is the founder & CEO of Nutrichicos, a bilingual nutrition practice dedicated to helping parents raise healthy and positive eaters without diets or Tricks. Marina is the author of Diabetes & Pregnancy: A Real Guide for Women with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes (American Diabetes Association) and has lived with type 1 diabetes since the age of 17. Before opening Nutrichicos, Marina worked at the top pediatric hospitals in the US, such as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Hospital. She has helped families transform their kids' nutrition for the past 13 years and works with brands and organizations to craft and share their message to reach a wider audience.
As a former Spokesperson of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Marina has extensive experience providing science-based commentary and translating science into practical advice for everyday people. Her advice is frequently featured in media outlets such as Parent's Magazine, Diabetes Forecast, Huffington Post, Medscape, Univision, Oprah, and Miami Herald.
Marina has a deep love of culture, language, food, and joy. She profoundly values exploration over perfection both at her practice and at home with her two daughters. She aims to teach families to enjoy their favorite cultural meals without guilt and help raise eaters with healthy relationships with food. She recently launched her new Podcast, Messy Bites- a podcast where nutrition science meets real mom life, with a side of culture, chaos, and amor.
