Mr. Payne studied Chinese and Economics at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He began his career writing for The Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong - before becoming a regular contributor through 2014. Mr. Payne began his business career working as an Account Manager covering Asia, Africa, The Middle East and Australia for a medical device company in the radiation therapy space. In 2018 he founded BioCoach after seeing an unmet need in the ketogenic diet market that he could address with his experience in medical devices. Since then he has seen the company through tremendous growth - including building the company to over $3.5 million in sales, and through an initial round of $1.5 Million in funding at a $10 million valuation.
“Being metabolically healthy starts with the food we eat,” noted CEO Matt Payne. “But too many pharma companies and medical device companies approach health by looking at the data or drugs and working backwards. But what needs to happen is that we need to start with the food we eat and then use the data to make adjustments. That’s what we’re trying to do at BioCoach.”
