Melanie oversees the Corporate Governance & Responsible Investment (CGRI) team at RBC Global Asset Management (GAM). The CGRI team supports RBC GAM’s investment teams in integrating environmental, social and governance factors into the investment process, engages in active stewardship and provides meaningful client reporting on responsible investment. Previously, Melanie held various roles at RBC GAM including Director, GAM Strategy & Fund Governance and Senior Manager, Fund Governance & Responsible Investment. Prior to working at RBC GAM, Melanie was Senior Counsel, Litigation for another large financial institution, and Enforcement Counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission.

When it comes to responsible investment, Canadians have a clear interest and desire to learn more. There is a role for asset managers, industry associations, advisors and regulators to help increase education around responsible investment, with the ultimate goal of enabling Canadians to make informed decisions.
