Melanie Carver is the Chief Mission Officer at the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), where she leads the organization’s strategy, advocacy, education, communications, and community programs. Since joining AAFA in 2016, she has transformed its digital presence—quadrupling online reach and doubling media visibility—while expanding its work in health equity and environmental health. She co-authored AAFA’s landmark Asthma Disparities in America report and spearheaded the launch of the Health Equity Advancement and Leadership (HEAL) program. Carver also serves as Principal Investigator for two CDC-supported initiatives aimed at improving asthma management among underserved populations. Her work has been featured in national outlets including The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsweek, and Consumer Reports. She lives near Seattle with her family and brings personal experience managing asthma, eczema, and food allergies to her professional mission.
