Michael Helander is the CEO and Co-founder of OTI Lumionics, a leader in the development of production-ready advanced materials for consumer electronics. Helander specializes in organic optoelectronics, including organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic solar cells and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs). Helander and his team were the first to develop quantum computing simulations for materials discovery to solve commercial-relevant issues. They created the Cathode Patterning Material (CPM) that is used to make OLED displays thinner, more transparent and more flexible to allow for better quality features like foldable screens and under-display cameras, which are something consumers and businesses are routinely demanding.

Helander is a highly respected professional who earned his PhD and completed a post-doctorate at the University of Toronto. He has many publication achievements including more than 70 scientific journal publications, more than 20 peer-reviewed proceedings and several book chapters.
