Mike is the President and Co-Founder of Scenic Advisement, an investment bank created specifically for the private market.

Mike has deep expertise in resolving inefficient markets across asset classes. Prior to co-founding Scenic Advisement, Mike worked at BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, and worked across all asset classes: Fixed Income, Equity, and Alternatives. He was the Global Head of Fixed Income business for Index and iShares, managing the largest fixed income beta business in the world. Before that he was Head of Americas Equity Trading, supervising a trading team specializing in equities, equity derivatives, and commodities trading in a global multi-regulatory environment. Mike has deep expertise in trading analytics, real-time trading systems, asset allocation, and optimal market structure design.

Prior to BlackRock, Mike was also a Derivatives Sales Trader and a Japanese Equity Program Trader with Morgan Stanley. Mike has also been a senior advisor to various exchanges, including the NYSE and Nasdaq, and has served as a member of the NYSE ITAC Committee and of the NASDAQ Quality of Markets Committee.

Mike is a fluent Japanese speaker and holds a BS from Binghamton University and Series 7, 24, 55, 63, 65, and 79 licenses. He lives in Marin County with his wife and three children.
