Mill is an Associate Professor of neurology and medicine is an alumnus of New York Medical College. He currently serves as associate dean for student affairs and also directs the fourth year multiculturalism in medicine elective at the NYMC School of Medicine. Dr. Etienne is a visiting scholar at the National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care at Tuskegee University and he is director of the Epilepsy and EEG Laboratory at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. He is currently serving as the President of the New York State Neurological Society.
People who are incarcerated or formerly incarcerated face major health disparities. The COVID-19 pandemic emphasized this. It’s important for medical students to be exposed to people from different populations, including people who are or were formerly incarcerated so they could understand the challenges they face and how it plays into their health in the present and future.
