As blockchain continues to be applied and expanded across various fields beyond technology and finance, a new paradigm is emerging from the old. This session will explore how decentralization, a core principle of blockchain, is reshaping scientific research, social networks, and physical infrastructure, and where it might go from here. MIT NEC professor of software science and engineering of DeSci (decentralized science), IoTex of DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure networks), and Cyber of DeSoc (decentralized social networks) will introduce these emerging trends that may be unfamiliar but are incrasingly significant.
