Nikhil Vadgama is a distinguished expert in web3 and emerging technologies specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain. He is a co-founder and director of the DLT Science Foundation, and deputy director of the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies. He is also an associate professor, programme director, and esteemed lecturer for several of University College London (UCL)’s world-class M.Sc. programmes, including financial technology, emerging digital technologies, and others.

With substantial commercial experience spanning multiple sectors, including fintech, education, and real estate, Nikhil is a sought-after expert on the effect of emerging technologies.

As a co-founder and director of the DLT Science Foundation, Nikhil advances the adoption of blockchain and web3 technologies. His leadership in this sector is also recognised by the Hedera Governing Council, where he represents UCL. He is also serves part of the DEC Institute, a global association driving education standards in web3.

He has pioneered many new emerging digital technology education initiatives, including executive education, online education, accredited education, and education standards. He has been instrumental in creating several technology programs for M.Sc. students, executives, and international businesses and has hosted roundtables, workshops and other initiatives for central banks and other international institutions. He was awarded Educator of the Year by the University Blockchain Research Initiative in 2022.

He also has extensive industry experience in financial services, most recently as part of the executive team at Twig, a new challenger bank, and previously working for large global investment banks.

Nikhil is the author of several published works, including "Enabling the Internet of Value: How Blockchain Connects Global Businesses.” In addition, he is an advisor to several cutting-edge blockchain and AI companies. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, an MPhys from the University of Oxford and is also a CFA® charterholder.
