Ethical Deepfake

My partner and I co-founded Pseudoface, an AI startup with the mission of enabling Ethical Deepfakes. Deepfakes are being used to steal women's identities, create non-consensual content and deceive people. Pseudoface is fighting fire with fire by re-purposing deepfake tech as realistic, AI-generated masks for professional, content creators. We see a future where there is no need for blurring faces anymore, where everyone can give a face to their controversial content or stigmatized ideas without feeling unsafe.

Since its launch a month ago, Pseudoface is now profitable and growing steadily. Every week more creators are making content with a pseudoface in diverse areas, from mental health testimonials to adult content videos to political takes.

I am the CEO of the company as well as the developer behind the app and the generative AI models that power Pseudoface. I have been consulting and working in AI startups for over a decade as a software engineer and technical product manager. Most of my experience revolves around applications of computer vision for image editing, visual effects and AR/VR. Before working on Pseudoface, I built countless augmented reality applications, algorithms to measure vital signs from selfie recordings, a novel (at the time) algorithm for temporal synchronization of camera feeds and founded an image optimization company. I was born in Spain, where I studied Film Production before becoming interested in technology. Currently I live in Cambridge, UK, with my partner and co-founder.
