Dr Pauldy Otermans is an education specialist with a background and PhD in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. She started Otermans Institute in 2020 and within it has has developed curriculum that have been taught across 12 countries (39,000+ learners) and were written about in conferences like Advance HE symposium and EDULearn22. for their ability to be truly cross-border effective – they were taught in refugee camps in North Iraq, in colleges in The Philippines and for the UK government to support NEET learners.
Pauldy is an AI in Education innovator having co-developed OIAI, a digital human teacher (Avatar + Conversational AI) that ‘teaches’ lessons to learners. It is completely powered by AI. The experience of learning using OIAI is like learning from a human teacher over a platform like Zoom and its first version taught refugee learners in BCF UNHCR camps in early 2021.
Pauldy regularly speaks on AI and education in forums like EdTech Summit UK and contributes opinions in research and media outlets and Tedx. Apart from Otermans Institute, she is Senior Lecturer (Education) at Brunel University London (HE). Pauldy was named one of ’22
