Priyesh is responsible for developing, leading and executing Vorto's strategy and growth initiatives. Prior to joining Vorto, Priyesh held positions of increasing leadership at Halliburton and Baker Hughes across strategy, business development, technology solutions, and operations. He focused on the areas of digital transformation, asset monitoring, automation and renewable energy. Priyesh has also led start-up companies in the past. He has authored several patents and thought leadership publications in the space of digital transformation. Priyesh is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Oklahoma.
The way to create a winning situation for all is not by hiring more drivers but, according to Ranjan, by increasing driver utilization and reducing the trucking cost structure.
On one side, the volume of shipments per shipper is extremely fragmented across all parts of America. On the other side, most fleets are extremely small and fragmented across America. Due to this hyper-fragmentation on both sides, when drivers try to find loads and connect loads, over 50% of their time in a year is spent driving empty miles or idling. A driver utilization efficiency problem happens because of the complication of connecting and dispatching their loads.
