I am a passionate motivational speaker and qualified mental health first aider. I speak about various topics such as finding happiness after trauma, the importance of living a life aligned to your values, employee wellbeing and mental health. Within my talks I speak about my own experiences during my time as a Police Officer. Throughout this time, I failed to take care of my own mental health and wellbeing. On my last shift in the Police I witnessed two very traumatic incidents which changed my life. Since leaving the Police I found that my body has began to heal itself from these experiences, resulting in me recollecting many traumatic incidents which I had failed to deal with at the time and I have suffered with PTSD symptoms since.
I am now on a mission to ensure that people (especially men) open up about their mental health and that people choose happiness. I have co-founded Rise of Happiness which is a free wellbeing magazine aimed at giving people practical tips of how they can choose happiness. The magazine provides uplifting and inspirational stories from people on their own happiness journeys, expert tips and research on happiness and delicious vegetarian recipes.
My experience as a front-line police officer has provided me with valuable insights into the importance of mental health. As a trained mental health first aider, I am passionate about helping others in their times of crisis.
My passion in creating happier lives and my experiences as a police officer have given me a unique perspective on life. I have been a vocal advocate for breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage others to speak up about their struggles and to always choose happiness in their lives.
