Robin Young serves as Managing Director at Nicky Clarke Worldwide and CEO of Nicky Clarke US, heading the strategic growth and positioning of the British haircare brand. The Nicky Clarke brand is renowned for its premium salon-quality hair tools and products that have established a strong legacy in the UK beauty industry over several decades.
Since joining the company in 2018, Robin has transformed Nicky Clarke's international presence, propelling the brand's global expansion. Under his leadership, Nicky Clarke has successfully entered untapped markets in South Africa and the United States. This international journey began with the strategic decision to bring the tools segment in-house by terminating a license agreement. It was accompanied by a comprehensive brand update and product range refresh, complemented by strategic investments in marketing efforts, leading to Nicky Clarke's successful re-launch in the UK market.
Robin supervises sales channels in both the UK and internationally. In the United States, the focus is on the professional market, with Robin overseeing the brand's presence primarily targeting salon distribution in North America to build brand authority in the competitive American market. The products are sold at SalonCentric.com, through distributors and to consumers through salons as well as on Amazon.com.
Robin's approach to the US expansion involves positioning Nicky Clarke as a premium British heritage brand while ensuring products meet American technical standards and style preferences. He manages a dedicated US-based team responsible for sales, marketing, and logistics, while coordinating closely with UK headquarters to maintain brand consistency. The products have gained significant praise among salon and session stylists and have been used at multiple seasons at New York Fashion Week, for editorials, red carpets, and major TV and film productions.
Prior to joining Nicky Clarke, Robin developed extensive retail expertise as a senior buying manager for personal care products at Tesco, one of the UK's largest retailers. This experience provided him with deep insights into consumer behavior, supply chain management, and retail strategy across diverse markets—knowledge he now leverages to build Nicky Clarke's presence in international retail and professional channels.
Under Robin's strategic direction, Nicky Clarke is steadily gaining recognition in the US haircare market, with plans to expand its current professional salon presence.
