I am a licensed psychotherapist serving New York, California, and Colorado, and I have a private practice in San Francisco, CA. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University and have been working in the mental health field since 2016, leading community-based mental health teams, consulting, and working in private practice. I identify as an Iranian-American/white, bisexual, and cisgender woman and strive to practice through an anti-racist, feminist, and anti-oppressive lens. I work with individual adults ages 18+, and I am deeply passionate about working with anxiety, grief, survivors of suicide loss or other sudden death, LGBTQ+-specific issues, trauma, and issues surrounding self-esteem and self-compassion. My approach is trauma-informed, and person-centered, and I draw from principles of CBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic theory, IFS, and mindfulness. I am also trained as an EMDR therapist.
While it may seem helpful, this approach can be more damaging than you realize.
