Bio
Edit

I am a licensed psychotherapist serving New York, California, and Colorado, and I have a private practice in San Francisco, CA. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University and have been working in the mental health field since 2016, leading community-based mental health teams, consulting, and working in private practice. I identify as an Iranian-American/white, bisexual, and cisgender woman and strive to practice through an anti-racist, feminist, and anti-oppressive lens. I work with individual adults ages 18+, and I am deeply passionate about working with anxiety, grief, survivors of suicide loss or other sudden death, LGBTQ+-specific issues, trauma, and issues surrounding self-esteem and self-compassion. My approach is trauma-informed, and person-centered, and I draw from principles of CBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic theory, IFS, and mindfulness. I am also trained as an EMDR therapist.

  • Therapist Weighs In: Man Not at Fault for Not Disclosing Ex-Fiancé's Gender
Sally says, “I don’t think this individual is an asshole at all.” She suggests the fiancée’s reaction may stem from deeper insecurities and recommends couples therapy for better understanding. Sally also advises the man to seek additional support for his grief, possibly through a support group.
