Shawn Ellis is the International CITO of TransUnion. Shawn leads a leading engineering team overseeing all of Transunion's technology across 30+ countries, including custom applications development and engineering, infrastructure and agile delivery organizations. Shawn led the implementation of TransUnion’s first credit bureau in the cloud, partnering with a broad enterprise team. Shawn has also made a significant contribution to TransUnion’s shift to a “product engineering” mindset which provides a holistic view of development and puts security, performance, reliability and talent at the core of technology initiatives. This allows for the delivery of highly performant and available applications, upskilling associates on the latest engineering and security practices, while delivering innovative solutions to customers, so they can provide the best, most relevant products in their markets.
Shawn was named a finalist for the Global Enterprise Chicago CIO of the Year (2022) by Orbie Awards, the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States honoring chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Shawn has over 25 years of technology experience and been with TransUnion since 2013 in different leadership roles, including US CIO and Engineering, and Senior Vice President of Global Technology Strategy and Planning. Prior to joining TransUnion, he held leadership roles at Capital One, HSBC and Sears. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business.
