Shernaz is an Operating Partner and CMO at Khosla Ventures. She brings a track record of building brands and scaling operational teams across a range of businesses from frontier technology and life sciences to consumer and enterprise.

For the last ten years she has served as executive advisor to GV (Google Ventures), and was instrumental in building the fund. She recently worked with 10x Genomics, one of the fastest-growing life sciences companies, which she advised through their fall 2019 IPO resulting in one of the top five performing IPOs for that year.

She has worked with a range of global companies including Netflix, Walmart, Motorola, Baidu, Khan Academy, Zynga, Electronic Arts, Groupon, Kosmix, Savvis (CenturyLink), Polyvore (Yahoo), Voyage (Cruise) and Guardant Health among others. She introduced Chinese company Baidu to the US market prior to its public offering, helped Netflix win the war against Blockbuster, and built out a technology brand position for Walmart through the creation of the @WalmartLabs division.

Shernaz was CMO of Udacity growing the user base, revenues, partnerships and brand through numerous channels. She was the CMO and head of investor relations at early search engine Inktomi and guided its IPO. Under her leadership, Inktomi became one of the hottest Internet brands, reaching a valuation of $37 billion. She has worked in video games across several companies and started her career at Sun Microsystems based in the United States and Europe.

Shernaz currently serves as a senior advisor to Kitty Hawk that is democratizing personal flight with eVTOL aircraft.

Shernaz gives talks in the US and internationally on topics such as entrepreneurship, company-building and developing long-standing brands. She has been featured in books including Netflixed; addressed members of Congress on the future of work; and given talks at the Milken Institute, Fortune Brainstorm Tech and Startup Grind among others.

She completed her undergraduate work at Stanford University Phi Beta Kappa and her master’s work at Harvard University.
