Sidney Powell is the Co-Founder and CEO of Maple Finance, a decentralized finance platform that has redefined corporate lending through its blockchain-powered marketplace. Since launching Maple in 2021, Powell has overseen its growth, facilitating over $2 billion in institutional loans and making it one of the leading platforms focused on institutional and accredited individual investors.
Powell’s career began in traditional finance, where he worked in Debt Capital Markets at National Australia Bank (NAB). During his tenure at NAB, he contributed to over $3 billion in corporate bond issuances and played a pivotal role in setting up a $200 million bond funding program. Prior to co-founding Maple, he served as Treasurer at a private equity-backed commercial lending fintech, where he managed treasury functions and structured financial strategies for growing the company. This background gave Powell the expertise to identify the inefficiencies in traditional finance, motivating him to launch Maple as a more transparent, decentralized alternative.
