Before joining his family business, he gained experience working in diverse industries such as adventure tourism, retail, software sales, and as a co-owner of 2Shoes, a software company based in Tucson.

Whatley Oil Company is a small, family-run business that operates with a streamlined team. As a result, Slaton's role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including his recent focus on enhancing the company's commercial diesel business. He has taken the lead in improving the company's online visibility, website functionality, and streamlining their lead management processes to capitalize on business opportunities.

In addition to his professional achievements, Slaton is a proud father to a newborn daughter, a devoted partner to an incredible woman, and the beneficiary of never ending love from his dog, Maple.
