He advises wealth managers and industry service providers (private banks, trust companies, broker-dealers, RIAs, custodians, and fintechs) on strategies for growth, differentiation, and operating model transformation. His recent work has focused on enterprise profitability, market entry, business segmentation, client segmentation, offering design, and financial advisor technology. Prior to joining Deloitte, Steve was Director of Strategy at a large U.S. regional bank.
Robo advice is here to stay, but it's no longer a viable standalone business model or a competitive differentiator for wealth management firms. It's simply a table-stakes capability for portfolio management. Every major firm in the industry currently has their own version of an automated investing platform.
