Raising a Resilient Family is about solutions. It is about helping parents move through challenging times and how to avoid difficult obstacles. I think all of us, especially parents today, need ideas on how to solve problems. The unprecedented statistics around depression and anxiety, suicide and drug overdoses, among our young population speak for themselves. Parents need support. They need real help. This book is about real ways to raise a resilient family.

As a practicing and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and the former Director of a therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens, I have had extensive exposure to the disconnect and dysfunction going on in our current culture. I have also raised four children, who are now productive young adults. Having worked with hundreds of families in crisis and watched hundreds of families heal from major life conflicts and issues, I have learned what works well. Additionally, I have worked with healthy, thriving families in my private practice wanting tools that prevent the disconnect from developing. It is always my greatest goal to facilitate change and awareness in a struggling family. My experience has shown me the best strategies to create significant positive impact on the family dynamic.

Raising a Resilient Family will teach you ways to create open and honest communication and authentic connection. I will be sharing the ideas that I have learned were the most effective in creating change with as many families as I possibly can reach. These ideas, when applied, really work. I have seen evidence of this and now I want to share these approaches with you. The family is the foundation of a healthy society. My hope has always been to support parents in finding better ways to coexist with their children, successfully. I hope I can help you and your family to thrive in amazing ways!
