Dr. Tania Diaz, a licensed psychologist, is a qualified board-approved clinical supervisor for mental health counselors, as well as a HeartMath Certified Trainer. Currently, she serves as the Program Coordinator for Mental Health Counseling students at Albizu University, where she teaches graduate courses and supervises student clinicians.
With over 20 years of clinical experience in the mental health field, she was recently honored with membership in the Trademark Top Doctors of America in 2018. She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs, where she has discussed topics ranging from the importance of mental health hygiene to heart rhythm technology and self-care, self-harm, and bullying.
In addition to owning her own boutique private practice, she gives continuing education lectures and volunteers her time as a way to give back to the community. Dr. Diaz consistently presents at annual conferences and has participated in the field assessment trials of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM5), to which she has made noted contributions.
With strong personal beliefs that people must embody what they teach, she engages in daily meditation, yoga and weight training. Philosophically, she prides herself in “not having all the answers” and enjoys being receptive to learning from everyone—especially children.
